Established in 2007, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) are proudly brought to you by the City of Brisbane, Australia’s New World City. APSA is the region’s highest accolade in film where cinematic excellence shines. With films from 70 countries and areas in the region, APSA honours filmmaking that best reflects its cultural origins and the diversity of the Asia Pacific.

The Nika Award is the main annual national film award in Russia presented by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Science. It was established in 1987 in Moscow by Yuli Gusman, and ostensibly modelled on the Oscars. The Russian Academy Award takes its name from Nike, the goddess of victory. 

Festival of Central and Eastern European Film in Wiesbaden. Founded in 2001, this festival of Central and Eastern European films forms a most promising supplement to the more traditional Cottbus Film Festival, which takes place approx. six months later. Thanks to close connections to the German Film Institute in Frankfurt, the organizers have very profound background information at their disposal.
