The Academy Awards, more popularly known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit in the film industry. Given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the awards are an international recognition of excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Academy's voting membership.

The Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944, recognizing excellence in film, both American and International, and the American television.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts or BAFTA Film Awards are presented in an annual award show hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to honour the best British and international contributions to film. The ceremonies were initially held at the flagship Odeon cinema in Leicester Square in London, before being held at the Royal Opera House from 2008 to 2016. Since 2017, the ceremony has been held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The ADFF aimed to showcase the best films from the region alongside standout productions from prominent international filmmakers.


Established in 2007, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) are proudly brought to you by the City of Brisbane, Australia’s New World City. APSA is the region’s highest accolade in film where cinematic excellence shines. With films from 70 countries and areas in the region, APSA honours filmmaking that best reflects its cultural origins and the diversity of the Asia Pacific.

Plus Camerimage is the biggest international film festival devoted to the creation of a film image by the cinematographers. Their profession, so important to the film work but underestimated for many years, has found its place at Plus Camerimage.

The Cannes International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres including documentaries from around the world. It is the world's most prestigious and publicized film festival. It's held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

The European Film Awards have been presented annually since 1988 by the European Film Academy to recognize excellence in European cinematic achievements. The awards are given in 19 categories, of which the most important is the Best Film. They are restricted to European cinema and European producers, directors, and actors.

"Spirit Awards" originally known as the FINDIE or Friends of Independents Awards founded in 1984 are dedicated to independent filmmakers. Winners were typically presented with acrylic glass pyramids containing suspended shoestrings representing the bare budgets of independent films.

International film festival, oriented on theme "Music". Launched in 2001, the World Soundtrack awards celebrate the art of film music. The festival is part of the World Soundtrack Summit, an annual gathering of film composers and other professionals in film music.


Premios Goya are Spain's main national annual film awards. The awards were established in 1987, a year after the founding of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.

It is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. Filmfest München is the largest summer film festival in Germany and second only in size and importance to the Berlinale. It has been held annually since 1983 and takes place in late June. It presents feature films and feature-length documentaries.

The Nika Award is the main annual national film award in Russia presented by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Science. It was established in 1987 in Moscow by Yuli Gusman, and ostensibly modelled on the Oscars. The Russian Academy Award takes its name from Nike, the goddess of victory.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival is one of the largest film festivals in the country. The Festival brings together industry reps and executives from Los Angeles, film aficionados from across the country and filmmakers from around the world.
